In 1995 we were a coffee company that started operating out of a spare bedroom in our parent's house. Our focus was the chef-driven restaurant. Fortunately, our concept had legs, we started to grow and moved into warehouse space pretty soon. The early days consisted of roasting, selling coffee to chefs, and learning the service side of the brewing equipment.

Then came iced tea

With limited time in our day, we thought it would be more efficient to partner with a friend’s company that already sold iced tea to restaurants. We always knew friends were great, partnerships... not so much. However, this exploratory phase gave us time to formulate our own iced tea blend.

Our goal was simple: if we were going to put our name behind iced tea, it had to live up to the same standards as our coffee. So we worked on the blend until we had something we were genuinely proud to serve. The blend was perfect, so in the year 2000 – Blue Durango Iced Tea became a brand.

At first, the feedback came quietly. Then something interesting started happening. Restaurants began asking specifically for Blue Durango Iced Tea – sometimes without even realizing we were actually a coffee company. Word quickly traveled through the chef community. Fast-forward to today, Blue Durango supplies hundreds of restaurants, coffee shops, cafés, and cafeterias with our signature brewed iced teas.
